Tub Pad
Level, long-lasting bases for hot tubs and swim spas, built by the same crew behind 400-plus foundations across Southeastern PA.
Reinforced concrete and compacted gravel pads, prepared to stay put through Pennsylvania’s freeze and thaw. Every quote starts with a free on-site visit.
base matters
A hot tub is far heavier than it looks. Filled and in use, a portable spa commonly weighs 3,000 to 6,000 pounds, and a swim spa can top 20,000. All of that load sits on whatever is underneath it. If the base settles or heaves even slightly, the shell can flex and crack, and most manufacturers will void the warranty on a tub that was not set on a proper, level foundation.
Three things decide whether a pad holds up:

Manufacturers typically allow no more than about half an inch of slope across an eight-foot run. A pad that starts level and stays that way protects the shell.

This is the one that catches people in Pennsylvania. Water works its way under a poorly drained base, freezes, and lifts it. A pad has to be built to drain and to resist that movement.

The base has to shed water. Gravel drains through it; concrete sheds it with a slight pitch and a compacted stone bed underneath.

The base you choose is the first real decision, and it comes down to how much you care about settling versus cost and looks. Here is how we walk homeowners through it.
Best for: A more natural look or a tighter budget, where a little settling down the road is acceptable. Not recommended for most projects.
How we steer it: If you want a base that is not going to settle, you want concrete. Gravel is a real option if you like the look or you are watching the budget, and we compact it properly, but at the end of the day it is still gravel and it can settle. Concrete is far more likely to just stay in one spot. So we build most pads in concrete, and we tell you plainly when gravel is the better fit for what you want.
One thing we do not do by default: wrap the pad in a timber frame. A wood border looks fine on day one, but Pennsylvania’s freeze and thaw pushes the frame away from the slab and leaves a gap that only gets worse. We will build it if you ask, but we will tell you why we would rather not.
Cost
No two pads price out the same, and we would rather explain what moves the number than post one that does not fit your job. Our pads land in the mid range for the area.

Tub Dealer Services
Selling or delivering a hot tub? We prepare the pad so it is ready and cured when the tub arrives. If you are a dealer, spa delivery company, deck builder, or landscaper who needs a solid base on a schedule, we can turn pads around quickly and work around your delivery date. One call, and the foundation is one less thing standing between your customer and their tub.
process
Free on-site evaluation of access, grade, and drainage
Excavate and grade the spot
Compact a 2B stone base for support and drainage
Form and pour a reinforced, wire-mesh slab, or set and compact the gravel base
Cut control joints to steer cracking, then let the concrete cure before the tub goes on
Service Details
We build ground-level hot tub and swim spa pads: concrete or gravel, any size, with an optional patio poured alongside.
What we do not do is elevated or on-deck platforms, rooftop installs, or in-ground and flush-set tubs. A pad on the ground under an existing deck is fine; a base that sits up off the ground is not our work.

Reviews
” I was so pleased with the professionalism and work of Levi and his team while building my shed pad. They were very reasonably priced and scheduled me quickly to meet my needs. Even though they didn’t need to, they stayed after they were completed to hose off my driveway and clean up. Would hire them again in a heartbeat! “

” Levi is an awesome guy and really great at what he does. He traveled all the way down to Westminster, MD to put in a 14×30 shed pad for me on pretty short notice. The land required a good amount of leveling and he made it look easy. Highly, highly recommend! I will definitely use his services again.”

FAQ
A pad on the ground under an existing deck is fine, and we handle sloped and uneven sites regularly. We do not build elevated or on-deck platforms or rooftop pads.
No. A hot tub’s wiring, bonding, and GFCI protection are handled by your licensed electrician. We build and prepare the pad.
Ready for a base that stays level? Schedule a free on-site evaluation and we will assess your yard and give you a quote based on the real conditions. Tell us your tub's size or model and where it is going, and we will take it from there.
